Bitcoin Obama is a Nigerian crypto shiller and meme personality on X (formerly Twitter), known since May 2023 for promoting the Ethereum meme coin HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu (HPOS10I), whose ticker is $BITCOIN. He is not Barack Obama and has no connection to him: the name comes from the coin he shills, Harry Potter Obama Sonic 10 Inu, ticker $BITCOIN. He says he is from Kano, Nigeria, posts in broken-English hype (“BITCOIN IS MY LIFE AND NEVER KUM IN MY LIFE”), makes paid promo videos, songs and costumes for meme coins, and currently posts as @obama__nastty. He is the star of The Crypto Craic Podcast, billed as the official Bitcoin Obama podcast.

Overview

Bitcoin Obama, the Nigerian crypto shiller, is one of the best-known characters of the HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu ($BITCOIN) community, whose members are called the Sprotos. His posts mix all-caps announcements, begging for “2 ETH” or “2% supply”, absurd content menus and promises that each new coin will “cure the malaria” in Nigeria. His bio reads: “Fighting crypto scams in Nigeria. Candidate for the 11th Nigerian Assembly Delegation Representative.” The candidacy is a running joke.

He calls Morelight (@tickerBITCOINbb), the self-styled leader of HPOS10I, his “father”, and Morelight calls him “son”. Fascist.eth is his “sister” (and, briefly, his wife), Frothless is his best friend, and Oggo claims to be his lover. He has spent years asking for a Sproto Gremlins NFT (“free my sproto”), and his current profile picture is a Sproto Gremlin NFT in a Nazi uniform with a swastika helmet. Since 2024 his videos often star a man with dwarfism he calls “my midget”, named Sani on the podcast. His religion changes with the coin: Eid posts in 2023, “I am Jew” and “HEBREW OBAMA” during the 2026 $dasha era, then “I am Muslim too” two days later.

His biggest backer is podcast host @Cryptoiscrack, the person who has induced (paid) him the most. Other inducers include Yannix. His longest rivalry is with Dumpstar, the $HOBA dev.

Bitcoin Obama is named after it: Harry Potter Obama Sonic 10 Inu, ticker $BITCOIN. The community was already calling him Bitcoin Obama on May 17, 2023 [post], and its members take “Bitcoin + famous person” names such as @BitcoinMLK and Bitcoin Kyle Chandler.
